Tea Education: Teach staff about tea origins, flavor profiles, grades, and proper steeping parameters (water temperature and steep time) for green, black, oolong, herbal, and white teas.
Drink Preparation: Train employees on preparing hot and cold tea beverages, matcha whisks, milk-based tea lattes, and signature infusions.
Equipment Care: Demonstrate the correct use, daily cleaning, and basic maintenance of commercial tea brewers, water boilers, espresso machines, and infusers.
Purpose: Lead coffee education, maintain high brewing standards, and mentor team members.
Design & Deliver Training: Create comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires and advanced skills workshops for current staff.
Teach Technical Skills: Instruct staff on espresso extraction, milk texturing (steaming), grind calibration ("dialing in"), and drink assembly.
Quality Control: Conduct regular site visits or floor audits to check equipment calibration, cleanliness, and beverage taste.
Assess Performance: Evaluate employee progress through practical tests and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
Maintain Equipment: Oversee basic maintenance, calibration, and cleaning of espresso machines and grinders.
Program Development: Create engaging training manuals, recipe cards, and hands-on modules for onboarding.
Performance Tracking: Monitor staff skills, run regular evaluations, and provide helpful coaching to close performance gaps.
Health and Safety: Enforce proper food safety, hygiene, and workstation cleanliness rules.
Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a tea specialist, beverage creator, or barista.
