Your Job:
As a Bartender at Café Americain, you’re not just preparing and serving drinks—you’re advising, storytelling, and helping to create an unforgettable guest experience. From a classic cocktail to a creative signature mix, your drinks bring flair and flavor to our iconic café. Responsibilities:
- Greet guests at the café bar and provide expert guidance on our drink and food offerings
- Prepare and serve classic and contemporary cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and coffee to the highest standard
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar
- Ensure timely, accurate, and professional service
- Check and replenish stock, monitor usage, and reduce waste
- Promote and upsell our drinks, specials, and premium offerings
- Keep the bar and surrounding area clean and presentable at all times
- Supervise and guide interns and students where needed
- Follow all alcohol service, food safety, and hygiene regulations
- Stay up to date with menu changes, seasonal drinks, and property events
- Collaborate with the floor team to create smooth service flow and exceptional guest satisfaction
- Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally using property guidelines
What You’ll Need:
- At least 2 years of bartending experience in a dynamic hospitality environment
- MBO Level 2–3 working and thinking level
- Knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wines, beers, and barista coffee—or a strong drive to learn
- Familiarity with POS systems (preferably Micros)
- Fluent in English; Dutch and other languages are a plus
- Creative, proactive, and stress-resistant personality
- A strong team player who brings energy, passion, and professionalism to every shift
- Flexible schedule, with emphasis specifically on weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Knowledge of allergen legislation and commitment to responsible alcohol service
