Role Summary
As a Bar Manager you will achieve and maintain high level of service standards, standards of guest care and ensure that training and employee development is carried out within your department .Along with other HODs you will also be expected to keep stocks to an acceptable agreed level and that you consistently achieve the agreed bar gross profit. You will help lead the bar team to craft excellent cocktails and provide exceptional hospitality, be passionate about the cocktail culture and have a flair for mixing drinks and entertaining guests.
Main areas of responsibilities
- To implement and ensure standards are attained within your department through continuous training of all staff with special emphasis on customer care.
- To ensure S.O.P.’s are implemented and followed at all times by your team and to review when needed
- To ensure that all staff receives a thorough briefing on all bar menus,products and upcoming large bookings
- To ensure that cleaning duties are carried out on a daily basis (to the S.O.P.) and action immediately any drop in performance.
- To be fully aware and knowledgeable in current Licensing laws that apply to your position and any changes to them and ensure this information is conveyed to your team.
- To ensure efficient and professional drink service in the bar and display menus daily.
- To ensure that all wastage, spillage, complimentary food and drinks are correctly signed for, dated and recorded and every effort is made to reduce these items.
- To co-operate and assist with departmental stock takes at the end of the month and to compare with previous month and explain any discrepancies
- To ensure all reasonable requests made by a member of the management team are effectively carried out.
- To ensure till and safe counts are done on a daily basis and any deviations/shortages are documented and reported to management and followed up on
- To ensure that no staff drinking occurs on the premises unless they have received permission from management
- Attend weekly meetings with operations teams across assigned venues
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or requested by management
- Assist with other tasks and projects on an as-needed basiis
Customer Care
- To ensure the highest standards of service and customer care are offered at all times.
- To ensure the delivery of these services also meets the highest operational standards set out by Senior management
- To continually strive for service improvements within your department.
- To handle concerns & complaints from customers in a professional and tactful manner.
- To communicate with the front desk team throughout the night to ensure bookings and walk-ins have tables available
- To provide hands on delivery of advice & knowledge to customers.
- Report at once, the management any dangerous occurrence, unsafe conditions or defects in equipment and/or premises.
- Requirements and skills
- Past experience working in a similar role
- In-depth working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Experience in staff management and development
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
- Experience in analysing financial and product reports
- Knowledge of planning and forecasting
- Track record of managing inventory and cost control
- Knowledge of administrative procedures
- Able to use relevant computer applications
- Knowledge of best practices for health & safety
- Available to work shifts during weekends and holidays.

Be friendly, helpful & polite and comfortable working with large crowds and the public. Be able to multi-task and problem solve, be adaptable & flexible. Good organisational skills: Be reliable, hardworking and responsible. Be calm under pressure, have good I.T skills and have a proven willingness and ability to learn

Pay: €27,286.07-€50,864.16 per year
