Overview:
The Bartender will prepare/serve beverages and/or food to the guest in a friendly, professional and timely matter.
Bartenders will prepare beverages for other servers to deliver to the guest. Will be responsible to serve as the cashier for lounges or events.
Responsibilities:
- Engage and greet guest and team members in a friendly professional manner, prepare beverage order(s) using mixes, garnishments, present drinks using standard ingredients recipes and practicing portion control.
Demonstrate knowledge on different types of wine and alcohol and different drink items listed on the menu.
Make suggestion on different types of beverage items.
Practice and ensure proper bartending standards are done with every service. (jigger, pour, make drink for servers when beverage is processed in Micros.
Maintain bar area clean, organized and fully stocked. Follow daily side work check list sheet.
Keep an accurate inventory on all beverage items. (liquor, beer, wines, garnishments, glasses etc.)
Ensure all beverage items are consistent and well-presented following the recipes of all cocktails.
Prepare and ensure proper stock of all bar garnishes and mixes
Set-up/Break down portable bars if needed for banquet or catering events ensuring bars a replenished and stocked with supplies needed for events.
Responsible for table maintenance within assigned stations throughout the service: table setup/breakdown, water service, refreshing of silverware, sweeping, mopping and/or vacuuming
Complete daily bar requisitions
Assist with keg room when needed
Will demonstrate knowledge in all policies related to liquor liability laws.
Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
Process orders by inputting sale into point of sale system, maintain accountability of all beverages served.
Collect cash from guest for food and beverages served, ensure proper change is being returned to the guest, ensure if guest is paying by credit cards maintain level of security.
Ensure proper signatures are collected on credit card and room charges.
Validating charges by providing guest with recipe of sale.
Ensure accuracy when balancing all monies.
Responsible for following all end of shift cash handling procedure.
Must be knowledgeable with the hotel amenities, venues and different facilities available on the property.
Perform any job-related duties as directed by supervisor or manager.
Must demonstrate being a team player and assist in seating, answering phones and serving tables.
Environment: Indoors, dimly lit, carpeted, climate-controlled environment.
Hard kitchen floors with occasional slippery or greasy areas.
Outdoors, cement surfaces, with exposure to outdoor climate and eleme
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have up to two years bartending experience.
- Must have extensive wine knowledge.
- One-year restaurant experience.
- Pleasant personality.
- Excellent communication skills
