Responsibilities and Duties
The Quality Champion will report to Franck Evers, Global Draught Master and CEO of Siebenheller & Partners LLC.
A Star Bar Quality Champion is a trainer and ambassador for draught beer of a large international beer brand in the United States. He or she has passion for hospitality and beer and is an enthusiastic public speaker with a flexible work ethic. A Quality Champion is eager to teach barstaff how to pour the perfect beer in a fun and interactive style. To become a Quality Champion you will receive extensive training and certification from Siebenheller & Partners.
Work closely together with the local beer brand sales team
Sell-in the Star Bar program to local hospitality outlets
Schedule and conduct Star Bar seminars in local hospitality outlets to create Star Bar outlets
Complete quality checks in all Star Bar outlets
Report to the Siebenheller & Partners team
Build a close relationship with all the Star Bar outlets
Create and share data reports with all involved parties (Siebenheller & Partners team, sales team and Star Bar outlets)
Qualifications
Education level: college degree preferred
Experience: history of working in the hospitality industry required, experience as a trainer not
required but preferred
Specific skills: public speaking, communicative, flexible in working hours (weekends, after
office hours), internationally oriented, fluent in English, be proficient with MS Office operating models (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Personal characteristics: open minded, flexible thinking, motivated, eager to learn and adapt, ability to travel
Licenses: US or international driver’s license, valid passport
Star Bar program
In 2017, Siebenheller & Partners and a large international beer brand developed a quality program for the hospitality industry called Star Bar. This educational program teaches bartenders how to pour the perfect beer and how to increase their hospitality and sales abilities, creating more volume and sales for the outlet.
The program consists out of 6 important elements, where the Quality Champion plays the most important role:
Outlet Selection: the Quality Champions works closely together with the local sales team to select outlets who meet all the criteria to become a Star Bar outlet
Sell-in: once selected, the Quality Champions supports the local sales team during the sell-
in process of the program. During the sell-in meeting with the manager or owner of the outlet, participation in the program is discussed.
Outlet Support: the local sales team and the Quality Champion provide the Star Bar outlet with all necessary tools and materials to execute the Star Bar program
Training: the Quality Champion or local sales team member schedules a suitable date with the outlet owner or manager. The Quality Champion will conduct the seminar on the agreed upon date and time. The Star Bar seminar is a 2 hour training involving beer treatment, product knowledge, hospitality and upselling
Evaluation: after the Star Bar seminar is conducted, the outlet will be visited by a mystery visitor to assess the execution of the pouring ritual and the Star Bar program. After each mystery visit, a report will be shared with the outlet. Based on the results, the outlet received tips and tricks on how to improve the results. During the year, each outlet receives 2 mystery visits.
Rewards: when all Star Bar outlets have received their seminar, the Star Bartender final will be organized. The Star Bartender final is a competition for bar staff to show of their pouring skills. Each Star Bar outlet can send 1 representative to compete in this final. The best pourer wins a trip to Amsterdam to represent the United States during the Global Bartender final in Amsterdam.
