MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB:
To assist with the running of the Gingerline bar space, either managing the bar and Bar Assistants during scheduled nights, or working with the Bar Manager to devise new drink specialties and ensure correct till procedures. The Assistant Bar Manager plays a highly visible role in pushing bar sales as well as maintaining constant vigilance over customer engagement, quality of drink output and potential health and safety hazards.

POSITION:
Salary: £21-22K per annum, with planned reviews at set periods based on performance of set objectives.
Scheduling: Hours may vary, but main hours run between 4pm to midnight, Tuesday-Saturday evenings
Reports to: Bar Manager, Operations Manager and Event Managers

DUTIES:
• Run the Gingerline bar smoothly by minimising guest wait time and enhancing their experience through impeccable and informed service
• To represent the Gingerline bar as a high-quality experience by focusing on quality and presentation of drinks
• Assist Bar Manager with checking and maintaining stock levels, deliveries, ordering ice and garnishes, prepping glassware, cleaning bar area
• Over the course of the evening, maintain constant vigilance over the bar, including a positive/cheery attitude toward guests and quality of drink output
• Pushing sales by imparting all necessary information regarding drinks and creating a friendly, fun atmosphere
• Take initiative whenever possible to maintain bar and limit wastage
• Ensure the tills are correct at the end of every shift and cashing up, while minimising human error and refunds
• Act as designated key holder for the bar, with full responsibility for locking up the designated space and following correct procedures
• Act as second pair of eyes to always look out for hazards that could put staff and customers in potential health/safety danger
• Engage with guests while maintaining character and interact with actors
• To learn contents and related allergens of all Gingerline food and bar menus currently in use. To be able to speak confidently and accurately to guests when questioned
• To be aware of the Gingerline back story and the concept for all current events. To be able to speak confidently to guests when questioned
• To promote and protect the good name and reputation of Gingerline at all times!
• Contribute to the Gingerline management team, and be willing to help out in any area as needed
• Must have a willingness to learn and continue expanding breadth of knowledge in cocktails

DESIRED SKILLS:
• REQUIRED: 2 years of bar management experience
• Background in cocktail making and bartendering
• Knowledge or experience in arts and performance
• Food knowledge and service experience (food safety knowledge)
• Energetic, friendly and helpful personality with strong interpersonal skills
• All-hands on deck mentality – you may be asked to jump in for something unexpected!
• Organisational skills – able to maintain administrative duties with stock, suppliers, invoicing/payments, etc.
