Hello, I'm Jay Frances.
Enthusiastic and hardworking cocktail bartender looking for work to improve their cocktail skills and learn about mixology.
Passionate is the word I would choose to describe myself, in everything I do I have approached it with energy, interest and enthusiasm. After my course at EBS, this passion is now in cocktail bartending. I wish to expand my knowledge in cocktails and mixology by gaining experience behind a live bar. From the cafe job I worked during study for my A levels, I learnt about handling customers and staying cool under pressure. My quick learning and friendly attitude aided me to be a jack of all trades helping both behind and front house. Later in university I ran a society who hosted large events of 100-200 people, with food, performances and games. From this I enforced my skills in teamwork and multitasking by having to coordinate with my team for stressful event damage control while keeping cool and friendly for members. Working as a fire tower volunteer for reading festival 2022 was an eye-opening experience and taught me how to stay alert through shifts and confident in my decisions and responsibilities in a stressful and pressured environment, as well as how to calmly deal with difficult and often intoxicated peoples. Finally, my experience in EBS Kos taught me much about being a bartender, of course! During, I gained many skills behind the bar in free-pour, cocktail preparation but most of all I learnt how to thrive under pressure and enjoy the work and knowledge that goes into the preparation of a cocktail.
