LUCALI - Miami - South Beach - BarBack Before taking the International Bartender Course in EBS, I decided to start working like a Barback, so this was my first job to learn about this industry. This place introduced me with a structure of knowledges about being a bartender. First, I learned about garnishes & syrups, how to make them and the quantity we need to have for a day. Then, I learned about the types of beers and brands, although the kinds of grapes to make wines. That way I was ready to start serving some wines during a rush and some beers too. Once I learned about that, I started to help the bartender in the serving station, serving beers, wines and some spirits & mixers, I started to identify some brands of spirits we had in the bar. While I was serving some spirits & mixers I was learning about Rum, Tequila, Mezcal, Vodka, Whisky or Whiskey & Gin. It helped me to know many brands of each one and also differences between flavors. The last step like a Barback there was help the serving station and the leader bartender to prepare some orders, during a rush it also helped me to work quickly, so actually I think I'm prepared to afford every situation and I'm ready to work in a high volume bar.
