

Hello, I'm Sanna.
I am an adventurous and creative 24-year-old mixologist from Sweden and India. I have grown up internationally and I reside in India. I am a part of the LGBTQ community and wear it proudly.
I have been a mixologist for 4 years. I studied a 3-month basic bartending course here in Chennai, India. I initially started the course as a hobby but fell in love with the job after working as a freelance bartender as a part of the basic training. Right after completing the course, I was recruited as a junior bartender at a popular local bar, called "Off the Record", in Chennai. During my time there, I sharpened my skills and learned to be more approachable as a bartender. I can service several guests with a smile while working fast and efficiently. Last year, I completed an International Bartender course and Mixology course at the European Bartender School in Goa, India. I am now able to do a level 1 WFA (World Flair Association) flair routine, free pour, serve cocktails with great speed and accuracy and create my own cocktails with great success. I am also well versed in all types of spirits in both history and production. During the first lockdown, I became very intrigued by the distillation & brewing process of alcohol. I am especially interested in Gin distillation and it has become a passion of mine to work with Gin. In the last year, I worked at Synck Speakeasy Bar, in Chennai. I had the amazing opportunity to curate the menu and work with some great advisors such as Karen Anand. I have found that curating menus is something I quite enjoy and I hope I can do more work like this in the future. This was also the first bar I have managed, so I got to learn how to set prices, do inventory, deal with vendors, and manage a bar team. It has been a great challenge but a wonderful experience that I was given and something I will remember forever. I am currently a freelance mixologist and bar consultant. I have worked with many people and teams mainly across India. I have worked with hotels like The Park Hotel (Chennai) and The Hyatt Regency(Chennai) as well as bars like Social(Chennai) and Watson's(Bangalore) to create special events. I have bartended for festivals like Maya Bazaar's Queer Festival and Flip Magazine's Music Festival. I also regularly run workshops for people who want to learn some basic cocktails. I have enjoyed my journey in India but now I am excited to learn more somewhere else, look to the future, and move on in a direction that will help me with my goals.
