Le Meridien is a 5 stars Hotel. The bar from the Hotel is Le Pop Cocktail Bar. Located in las Ramblas, the heart of Barcelona. I started my very first experience as a Bartender here as an Assistant Mixologist and ended up leading the bar. My job there:  Stellar Customer service – When we had a huge amount of work, I not only gave a great service but myself and my team always maintained an upbeat attitude and a smile. No matter how slammed the bar was.  Bartender training - having trained the last 2 bartenders hired, I walked away with a far deeper understanding of what it takes to be a successful bartender and I ingrained these traits into my trainees.  Organizational skills – Planning different events like thematic parties (+100ppl) or Masterclass (30ppl Max).  Prep – A well-stocked and prepped bar (clean) translates into a higher revenues and better customer service.  Multitasking – Receiving customers, taking orders, preparing drinks (also for the restaurant) and serving food, while cleaning as I go.  Ability to work under pressure amid distractions, interruptions and loud music.  Looking after the safety of drinking customers whilst they are standing at the bar. Monitoring the intake of alcohol and prohibiting the sale of it to those who are intoxicated.  Washing up glasses, dishware and utensils and then putting them in their own place.  Ensuring that the bar is always well-stocked, ordering the required amount of liquor and supplies and doing inventory.  Advising guests on their choice of champagnes, wines, spirits and cocktails.  Anticipate guests needs to decide if additional service is needed.  Welcoming, acknowledging and greeting guests who come to the bar for a drink.
