I am a young and hungry bartender with a high working capacity always ready to absorb trade knowledge and skills. I have previously been employed at Tasos beach bar and restaurant in Zakythos, Greece for a season where I first gained an interest for barwork but quickly realised that I had a huge gap I knowledge when it came to making drinks and techniques used to do so to become a more complete bartender. During this time I learnt techniques such as pint poring, stocking, maintaining hygiene standards and customer service and interaction. After working as a barback and server I promptly started reaserching methods to improve my trait. EBS was clearly the only option moving forward as this course would quench my thirst in terms of teaching me both theoretically and practically about working behind a bar, cocktail recipes, flairtending and theory behind different spirits, beer and wine. This course challenged me and made me realise what it takes to be a the top. Once I completed my course I was offered a job immediately at ‘Peoples Place’ which is a bar that does events for Tommy Hilfiger every Friday and Saturday as a extra bartender and barback. This is a exclusive invite only bar which has a special cocktail menu each week that is decided on Thursday. PP bar has three stations and really taught me about working closely with people and communicating in order to be as efficient as possible. While working at people’s place I’ve been able to learn efficient ways of serving the customers, the operation of the mobile pin machine and cash register. In addition I have learned about all the different kinds of beers and soft drinks in The Netherlands. So far I have enjoyed every single minute of being behind the bar!
