Hello, I'm Kieran.

I am a positive minded individual who is keen to progress in the hospitality industry. I excel in building rapport with customers and colleagues to create a harmonious and enjoyable working environment.

My first experience in the working world was on the checkouts in Tesco as a 16 year old. This helped me gain a level of confidence that would help me going forward in my working life. I gained a level of face to face communication that I used in my progression through the company. Customer interaction became a particular strong point of mine and later helped me deal with customers and staff when I held a position of authority. I progressed through Team Leader, Department Manager, Deputy Manager and Store Manager positions in a 4 year period. During this time, I attended many workshops within Tesco’s academy which included learning and implementing a host of managerial and behavioural skills which I believe are transferable into any service based industry. After Tesco, I took a lot of time off to travel but spent 5 months working on the bar in a Beefeater restaurant. Having to start from scratch with no bar knowledge, I picked the job up very quickly and found myself enjoying the job far more than I had anticipated. I gained partial knowledge in Cocktails, Wines and Beers and delivered strong customer service even during short staffed, testing shifts. It was because of this job that I decided to partake in a bartending course with the European Bartender School in New York where I expanded my knowledge immensely. I am now itching to get back into bar work as soon as I can.
