Hello, I'm Manav.
Former ice climber, guided on 6,000-metre peaks, now happiest behind a bar. The mountains made me calm under pressure, easy with people, and always on time. I run a travel company in rural India, and I still love a busy shift.
Trip Leader & Guide — White Adventure · [Himalayas] · 2021–2025 Led groups of [6–12] on multi-day high-altitude treks and expeditions, owning the trip end to end: route, pacing, meals, permits, and group welfare. Made time-critical calls with incomplete information — weather, altitude, injury, group fatigue — where a slow decision was itself the risk. Managed people under stress and exhaustion, defusing friction inside the group before it affected the trip. Held to strict pre-dawn start times across trips; in this work, punctuality is a safety measure rather than a courtesy. Independent Trip Leader & Guide — Freelance · 2021–2025 Ran private trips for a direct clientele, handling logistics, local operator coordination, and client expectations myself. Built itineraries around each group's fitness, experience level, and appetite for risk. Repeat clients and referrals accounted for the majority of bookings. My bar experience is freelance rather than salaried — private homes and private events, often solo, often for demanding clients. I'm light on high-volume commercial bar hours and I'd rather say that up front than oversell it. What I bring is composure when it's slammed, punctuality I treat as non-negotiable, and an ability to read a room and talk to anyone in it. The technical side I'll learn fast.
