Hello, I'm Kieran.
I am a 19-year-old, Biomedical Engineering student in University of Galway, Ireland. I've completed the EBS Course in Mallorca, with a grade B(89%). I'm currently looking for summer work and would appreciate your consideration. Thank you
Key Skills: Bar Tending – During my time at EBS I studied under instructors Mimi and Cedric Van Schendel. Throughout my intense month at EBS I have gained a great knowledge about all sorts of spirits and liquors. This was done through well-structured master classes examining the history, production and brands of all sorts of drinks, while training my physical skills in free pour, flair, practise bar and memorising a large variety of cocktail recipes which we were tested on daily which culminated in a final 3-hour exam. The free pour consisted of different pour techniques including scale pour, juice pour, jigger pour, reverse grip, double grip and 2 different chase pours, all left and right-handed. These pours were all tested in a free pour accuracy exam. Flair required me to produce 2 flair routines from a choice of 3 and I was graded on my movements and tricks throughout the routine. All these skills contributed to my final grade. The practise bar involved making single and multiple drinks at a time, as accurately and efficiently as possible, behind a practise bar, with a final exam requiring 12 drinks to be made, two at a time in a time of 12 minutes. All exams had a requirement of 75% to pass. During the month we held a friendly cocktail competition with profession bartender guest judges where my team placed second with our watermelon infused tequila cocktail. Attention to detail – As part of my college course, great attention to detail is required. I have been involved in projects from the design, construction and launching of model rockets, to the dissection and testing of heart tissue and I pride myself on my attention to detail which I intend to bring to my work as a bartender. Communication and customer relations – My communications skills have allowed me to take leadership roles in many of my college projects and to adapt easily to team settings. Previous experience in retail as a teenager has thought me the value of clear, friendly customer interaction, and I now bring this same confidence and approachability into bartending. Working in hardware and clothing retail outlets has given me experience in stock taking, working on tills and communicating with customers. Education: • I achieved an 89% overall grade after completing the intensive EBS 4 week International Bartending Course including a 92% grade is our final bar exam, 85% in free pour and 97% in my flair routines. • I’m going into my second year of Biomedical Engineering at University of Galway. • On completion of Ireland’s final state exams (Leaving Certificate) last year, in which I did all honours subjects I, achieved a grade of 567 points out of a possible 625 points. • I have also completed CPR training. Interests and Hobbies: I grew up sailing and have my own boat. I am a member of Tralee Bay Sailing Club. I have won multiple meddles for Martial Arts and Basketball over the years and I am now a middle blocker on several volleyball teams in Galway including the University team. I regularly attend the Gym and enjoy hiking and various water sports. References: EBS instructors: -Cedric: +43 650 4000970 -Mimi: +33 6 52 52 76 89 Thank you for taking the time to read my CV.
