The Transit Bar is looking for a Bar Manager who has excellent leadership and customer service skills; good knowledge of cocktails, wines and beers; and is customer focussed, with an absolute passion for the hospitality industry..

- Immediate start.
Key Responsibilities:
Bar management:
- Opening and closing the bar
- Using point-of-sale tracking technology and bar and restaurant management platforms
- Remaining current with relevant legislation regarding service of alcohol, and licensing.
Staff management
- Responsible for bar staff, wait staff and security staff management in order to provide an excellent level of customer service, and to maximize sales and profitability
- Determining staff needs, recruiting staff to best fit the bar's needs, and staff training
- Communicating company policy, standards and procedures to staff
- Performance managing staff and ensuring they operate within company policies
- Scheduling staff in an efficient manner to best cover the demands of the customers and raising and maintaining weekly rosters
- Resolving staff conflicts swiftly and appropriately within level of responsibility
- Reporting any personnel issues to the Operations Manager
- Working shifts required to meet the needs of the bar. This may include nights, weekends and holidays. On the busy nights, providing support to training.
Stock management
- Selecting and purchasing liquor and other supplies in coordination and with approval from the Operations Manager
- Monitoring stock levels and supplies
- Checking stock is correctly rotated and stored to reduce wastage
Conducting stocktakes
Ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate must:
- have a minimum of 2 yrs experience in staff management and preparing work rosters
- have a sound understanding of classic cocktails
- hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
