My thesis topic looked on the contamination of the ice used for street vendors.it’s very meaningful for me as it requires me to be against my usual mode of operation in order to accomplish it. First is the planning. My typical planning involves imagining possibilities and have Plan A, B, and C, but only so roughly. In food science research, like all scientific research, requires insane amount of planning. With one misstep, everything must be redone. Another is paying attention to details. Usually, I’m more of a big-picture guy. With my thesis, I need to keep track of thousands of data and analyze findings. Lastly, the project taught me to think outside of the box to solve problems with creative solutions. No matter how much you’ve planned, things can still go wrong. I once realized too late the samples I've prepared were not enough for the experiment. It was not possible to redo it, so I divided samples in petri dishes into finer pixels. It could still work just quite harder to manoeuvre, and it got work done.
