Hard Work
Aidan

Hello, I'm Aidan.

Experienced home bartender, recently left school looking to get my first job in what I hope is a lifelong career.

From January 2016 to April 2017, I volunteered in my local library, helping the librarians and members of the public. This customer service really helped to boost my confidence when engaging with people I had never met before and this is a key skill for all jobs especially hospitality work. Through the EBS course, I was selected to undertake a work experience shift at a popular London bar (London Cocktail Club, Oxford Circus) on a busy Friday evening. During this shift, I took on the role of barback, which involves supporting the bartenders by restocking ice, collecting and cleaning glasses, preparing garnishes and premixes as well as interacting with guests and making some drinks using the knowledge I had gained from my course up to this point. As well as this work experience shift, after graduating from my course I volunteered to make cocktails for the public and other members of the course at an event hosted by the European Bartender School called ‘Complex Cocktails’ which was a fantastic experience and very close to making cocktails and serving from behind a real bar.
