Hard Work
ALEXANDRE

Hello, I'm ALEXANDRE.

Coming from a very small French island in the Indian Ocean, EBS opened my eyes to the global and wide-ranging world of bartending. I really enjoyed the experience and I would love to have the opportunity to consolidate my skills further.

Working efficiently with other members of staff and sharing a commitment to objectives is a key requirement as a bartender. I would consider myself to be an active team-player and I have always enjoyed interacting with people in a variety of capacities. For instance, I have actively participated in various musical ensembles, from a local youth orchestra at school to a rock band in Bordeaux. During my time in mainland France, I joined a regional GAA team set up by Irish expatriates and participated in a French Gaelic football tournament. This sense of camaraderie was equally explored when I was part of an intimate lifesaving group where it was necessary to develop a strong support network amongst ourselves. My team-orientated mentality is easily transferrable to a bartending position. Moreover, a bartender needs to communicate clearly and build a friendly rapport with clientele. As a beach lifeguard it was important to be very responsive with beachgoers in order to caution them against the use of unsafe beach areas and to ensure their safety in the event of emergency. Similarly, in my most recent role as a sales assistant at a large home improvement and garden centre in La Réunion, I offered sales advice to clients in a professional yet amicable manner, and I strove to offer solutions to any queries that they had. I was highly commended on my amiable approach during my time at Leroy Merlin, and I was subsequently given the opportunity to stay on in a more permanent position if I wished. I can therefore contribute my ability to effectively communicate with both clients and staff to any new team that I join. A position within a bar environment also prioritises a keen attention to detail and strong organisational skills. As an accountancy assistant, it was important to be meticulous when it came to paying and mailing invoices in order to ensure that no mistakes were made. Similarly, during my time as a student at the European Bartender School, bar organisation and cleanliness was heavily stressed, as was precision when measuring cocktails and processing multiple drinks orders. It was equally as important to demonstrate accuracy with both drink-mixing and serving techniques. I will bring my exceptional work ethic to a bartending position.
